The Barrister

Angus Buttanshaw:

1. Advised case he sent for Arbitration following "Private & Personal" letter from Andrew F. Smyth to Thomas Jackson. This was an unsuitable course for this case.

2. Insisted nothing showed up in Discovery of Documents. Note reference to Farrell & Associates, Loss Adjusters. Mr. Buttanshaw somehow "missed" this despite it being listed on 4/7/1988 days after fire.

3. Despite 2 above and inside information from client that property was insured he "neglected" to ask about insurance at Arbitration Hearing. The signifance of this is that had Mr. Mulligan been forced to testify under oath re insurance he would have to reveal the insurance or commit perjury. Lies told when not under oath have no legal signifance.
